Russia’s Air Defense Shoots Down 42 Drones Over Crimea, Ukraine Claims

Government Russia praised its air defense capabilities, having managed to shoot down 42 drones over the peninsula Crimea occupied by Moscow, the day after Ukraine claimed his troops launched an attack there.

“Nine UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were destroyed… on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. Another 33 UAVs were disabled by means of electronic warfare and crashed without reaching their target,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement as reported by AFP, Friday (25/8) /2023).

Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014, was targeted by Kyiv during Moscow’s invasion a year ago. The attacks on the Crimea region have intensified and intensified in recent weeks.
