Ukraine reported this evening “fierce fighting” with the Russian army, which is advancing in the eastern part of the country, France Press reported.
The Russian armed forces are advancing in four sections of the front line in eastern Ukraine – in the Avdeevka, Marinka and Liman regions of the Donetsk region and Svatovo in the neighboring Luhansk region, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar told Telegram. She admitted that “the situation is quite difficult. Fierce fighting is going on everywhere (in these directions).”
Malyar also said that Ukrainian troops, for their part, are advancing with “partial success” on the southern flank in the region of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, as well as near Berdyansk and Melitopol in the southern Zaporozhye region. In the south, the Ukrainian army is encountering “intense enemy resistance” as well as minefields, and is advancing only gradually, she said.
Malyar said in conclusion that the Ukrainian troops “are working continuously and tirelessly to create conditions for the fastest possible offensive”, BTA reported.
