ISW notes that Russia’s 810th Marine Brigade has confirmed on the Telegram platform that it deliberately used chemical weapons against Ukrainian forces, in gross violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, to which Russia is also a signatory.

The infantry unit confirmed that it had dropped K-51 aerosol grenades, which contain an important tear gas component, from drones on Ukrainian positions. Although tear gas is used in riot control, its use in warfare is prohibited.
The infantry brigade published a video showing that it dropped the banned K-51 in Krinikos.
