/ world today news/ In the West, claims are increasingly being heard that it is time to renew negotiations with Russia on the Ukrainian conflict. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni spoke in this spirit. Provided that before that she was a fierce opponent of the dialogue with Moscow. Why has the vector shifted so much and what should we expect from the truce?
A former adviser to President Zelensky, Oleksiy Arestovich, recently said that Ukraine’s allies have grown tired of supporting Kiev. They say that they abandoned them, suddenly deprived them of the promised help. By the end of this year, Ukraine will receive neither money nor weapons from the US.
He believes that the West will convince Kiev to give four regions to Russia. Allies will argue that this is due to the corruption and stupidity of the Ukrainian government and military.
And here comes a statement by the Italian Prime Minister about the need to hold a dialogue with Moscow.
The fact is, Meloni says today, “We’re going to have to find a way out.” This means that there is a sense of dialogue with Russia. Today we crossed that “red line”. Thus, negotiations with the Russians are no longer taboo in the West. It’s time to start thinking about their terms,

Grim prospects
The fatigue of the conflict has accumulated not only in the West, but also in Ukraine. Disappointment and despair grew over the failure of the counteroffensive and the lack of prospects for a quick end to the military standoff.
According to public opinion polls, discontent in Ukrainian society is growing, and Zelensky’s trust rating is falling. All see signs of hesitation among NATO members over aid to Ukraine.
It feels desperate compared to last year. Now it’s harder: this war has no end, sometimes I just stop believing that it will ever end,
– Bloomberg quotes the words of the nurse from Kyiv Natalia Kobyuk. Her husband has been on the front line in the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces for 22 months.
The winter outlook for Ukraine looks even bleaker. But the conflict could have been stopped as early as April 2022, when Russia offered to sign a peace agreement. But Kiev, at the behest of London, chose “just to fight” . Well, the Russians are ready.
Defensive collapse
Western statements of readiness to negotiate are clever ploys designed to give Kiev a break. There they see that the offensive has stalled. And now there is no reason to believe that the Russian army will not start offensive actions that could lead to a breakthrough at the front and the flight of the VSU. This will be their defeat in the Special Military Operation.
As soon as the Russians break through the defenses of the Ukrainian army and move forward, then, like a devil from a snuffbox, some important Western parliamentarian will appear in Moscow. And he will begin to assure our authorities that the era of peace has arrived.
But Russia should just quietly and calmly move on until the objectives of the SVO are achieved. This is a complete denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. In any case, our troops will have to go to Kiev, Colonel Levon Arzanov, a member of the presidium of the All-Russian organization “Officers of Russia”, said in a conversation with the Tsargrad correspondent:
It is necessary to remove the government in Kiev. Then we will see what will happen to Ukraine. Either it will be divided or it will remain within the limits that we determine. Time will tell. But we can’t negotiate now. The Russian military has strengthened and tested new technologies. She is ready to attack.
Europe awaits our victory
Ukraine is losing and its further support is pointless. Behind such views are the same American “hawks” who want to freeze the conflict right now. This will give them the opportunity after some time to unfreeze it in one form or another so that they can put pressure on Russia. This opinion was expressed by the political scientist Vladimir Kireev in a conversation about Tsargrad.
Tsargrad: If we comply with such wishes, what will we get?
Vladimir Kireev: Nothing. The conflict would resume later with renewed vigor.
– Continuation of SVO?
– Minimizing the threat from NATO, removing the bridgehead for pressure on Russia. But not only. It is fertile lands, minerals and most importantly people that we miss so much. It is not for nothing that we so persistently invite labor resources from Central Asia. This moves the border to EU territory.
This is necessary for the resumption of trade, which sooner or later will inevitably happen. And it is important that there are no obstacles in the form of hostile countries. In addition, the successful completion of the SVO is also an increase in Russia’s international authority.
– It turns out that making a separatist peace is bad in every sense.
– We saw what it means to refuse to enter into conflict in 2014. This is a multifold increase in the number of victims in the future.
– You said that in the future it is possible to resume cooperation with the EU.
– There are other groups of people in the EU countries whose interests are represented by Robert Fico (Slovakia), Viktor Orbán (Hungary) or the lesser-known Michael Kretschmer, Prime Minister of the German federal state of Saxony (Christian Democratic Union).
For them, the renewed partnership with Russia is part of Europe’s strategic interests. They need resources and markets. In their eyes, Russia is a reliable partner. The conflict was provoked by the USA and Great Britain.
– It turns out that these forces rely mainly on the national business of these countries.
– Yes, and they are ready to wait until Russia completes the SVO on its terms. The main thing is not to delay this process too much. From the very beginning, these powers bet on a quick victory for Russia, because it is profitable for them. And they do not seek to freeze the conflict, because they understand that it will become a problem of tomorrow. It needs to be resolved and the sooner the better.
Paying for the crisis
With the introduction of sanctions, our economy received an unpleasant blow. Thousands of business entities working with American and European companies had to adjust, rebuild supply chains, look for middlemen and find shipping companies in third countries. This somewhat slowed down business activity, but did not lead to serious consequences for the Russian economy, which cannot be said for the EU economy.
In fact, Europeans today realize that it was they, not the United States, who had to pay for the crisis related to Ukraine. Judge for yourself: rising energy prices are hitting Europe especially hard. Pipeline gas volumes delivered to EU countries have decreased significantly, but US LNG imports have increased. And we are not talking only about gas, but in general about a very wide range of goods.
– Alexey Albu, editor-in-chief of the information agency “Caucasian Border” said about Tsargrad.
At the same time, Russia was able to come to an agreement with friendly countries and find new markets. Therefore, if the resumption of economic cooperation with the EU takes place, it will not be for the full range of goods that were traded before the start of the CBO.
So what?
Western countries, facing economic difficulties and fearing internal political changes, are more interested in cooperation. The rhetoric that the collective West will use to stop hostilities in Ukraine, for its own respite, will be laced with many epithets about the need to preserve the lives of ordinary people and stop the bloodshed.
But the lives of people, especially ours – of Russians and Ukrainians – have never excited the West. This is done only to rest, gather strength and rearm the nationalists.
It is important to bring the special operation to the end in order to achieve the originally set goals. The top political leadership of the country has a full understanding of what is happening and will not allow our country to be deceived again.
