A court in St. Petersburg on Monday ordered the forcible hospitalization of a Russian woman who had escaped from the quarantine to which she was subjected due to a stay in China in the midst of an epidemic of the new coronavirus.

The administration of Botkin hospital did not appreciate the gesture and its chief doctor filed a complaint against Ms. Ilina, asking to place her by force in quarantine.
