WASHINGTON – CIA Director William Burns calls the risk of nuclear war in Ukraine increased after the warship of pride Russia , Moscow, drowned in the Black Sea. Ukraine claims the cruiser was hit by a Neptune anti-ship missile on Wednesday night.

Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed the Moskva sank on Thursday after it caught fire and was rocked by explosions.

The ministry was reluctant to admit that the ship was hit by a missile by Ukrainian forces and said the explosion came from the ammunition it was carrying which was sparked by a fire. The cause of the fire, the ministry continued, is still under investigation.

According to the CIA, the sinking of the warship Moskva in the Black Sea could be enough to shock Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The world is watching closely what Putin does next after the warship was hit by a Neptune missile by Ukraine. Soon after, the sound of air raid sirens boomed in every region of Ukraine simultaneously.

Burns said Ukraine must be prepared for retaliation on a new scale and war will be taken to another level. Speaking to students and faculty at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta on Friday, Burns said the potential for a nuclear strike was real.

“The final chapter in Putin’s war hasn’t been written yet, because he’s grinding in Ukraine,” Burns said.

“I have no doubts about the cruel pain and damage that Putin could continue to inflict in Ukraine, or the raw brutality imposed by Russian forces,” Burns said. AFPSaturday (16/4/2022).
