Russian Underwater Gas Pipeline Explosion: Global Military Conflicts and Western Perception in 2023

/Pogled.info/ This year 2023, contrary to all anxious hopes, did not bring peace in a broad sense, but turned into a year of global military conflicts that spread across the map like a fire rash. While everyone closely followed the chronicle of the suddenly awakened Arab-Israeli conflict, right next to Russia, its wonderful neighbors, without a break for lunch or sleep, continued to shape the mass Western consciousness, in which our country was once again positioned as an obvious and undisguised evil.

On October 8, the newscasts of Finland and the Baltic states – and from them, by chain, all over Europe – lit up with headlines of the form “Russia blows up an underwater gas pipeline”. The titles vary, but the general message is exactly that and does not allow for double interpretation. Information sources in Finland and Estonia reported that the underwater gas pipeline “Baltic Connector”, connecting the two countries, suffered damage of an unknown type and extent. The wording given was extremely vague, it was only clear that somewhere along the 77-kilometer section of the gas pipeline, the route depressurized and began to leak gas.

The Nordic and Baltic states themselves are small, and so the news hit the regional agenda like a cobblestone in a stagnant swamp, raising a wave with distinct notes of panic.

The very next day, Sweden issued an official statement that it was ready to provide Finland and Estonia with any necessary assistance, and Norway, citing its seismological service, reported that an explosion with a magnitude of one unit had been registered in the area of the probable accident. The wave of hysteria spiraled uncontrollably, and the next to jump on the scene was Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, who declared that traces of outside influence had definitely been found in the area of the leak. This fiery cocktail of information was completed by the BBC’s announcement that not only the pipe had been destroyed, but also a high-speed communications cable.

The rather frightened inhabitants of the region did not have time to come to their senses and start thinking logically, and an article by Frank Gardner from the same British publication was immediately dropped on their heads, which, referring to some Finnish security officials, firmly nailed public opinion: the Russians did everything in revenge for the blowing up of the Northern Streams.

Here it is immediately noticeable the fact that with this statement the collective West refutes its own version, which was initially actively promoted in the wide information space, that Moscow itself blew up the “flows”. Perhaps the professional liars of the Western media were in such a hurry that they simply missed this simplest logical chain.

But that’s not the main thing. The circus travesty of the investigation into the terrorist attack on Russian gas pipelines is not going smoothly at all, and it is being conducted separately by the three closest countries, and Russia was not allowed into the process at all.

The scenario of what was happening became clear yesterday, on the third day, when the head of the North Atlantic Alliance joined the process. Jens Stoltenberg immediately said that the “Baltic Connector” is a key infrastructure of NATO member countries, and therefore, if it is proven that the gas pipeline was subjected to a targeted and deliberate attack, the Alliance will give a decisive and unequivocal response. That is, at a minimum he will take the infrastructure under direct military custody, and at a maximum he will strike back.

This formulaic Hollywood script could have slipped through if it weren’t for one big problem in the form of our memory.

In mid-July, we discussed the NATO initiative in which Western fighters, instigated by their own military-industrial complex, declared their desire to take over Europe’s entire energy infrastructure. Allegedly as part of its defense against Russian aggression. Since then nothing has been heard of the success of pure racketeer arm-twisting, but judging by current events, the private and public owners of pipes and power plants were not thrilled with the proposal. And so at the end of the second year of the SVO, when it became abundantly clear that the Russian economy was not going to collapse and Moscow was not going to deviate from its chosen path, something completely accidental exploded near a state-owned gas pipeline critically dependent on gas supplies from Russia.

As usual, all such events have a second bottom.

NATO scares not only the shareholders of “Gasum” and “Vorgutenus” (subsidiary of “Esti Gaz”), offering an intrusive “roof”. Along the way, the pumping of public consciousness continues, in which the postulate that Russia is an aggressor country, the infamous bad guy from every Hollywood movie, is hammered into. Therefore, if something happens, you should go to war without any questions, or at least actively donate. First, you can start doing something in favor of Ukraine, that the state budgets of the USA and EU countries are already sucking the last dollars from the financial bottom. Preparations are underway for a potential major war, which may not happen, but it is better to prepare in advance ten to twenty divisions of well-trained soldiers.

Russia is all about this. Moscow pushes its geopolitical line with the phlegmaticity of an iron rhinoceros, but the owners of European factories, newspapers and ships must brace themselves. The British “Times”, describing the events of the last few days, took the plunge and wrote that in the Baltic waters, attention, this is the second gas pipeline that has been attacked. Whoever has ears let them hear, luckily the hint is thicker than ever.
