Russia Ukrainian ultimatum on invasion. Ukraine given the choice of accepting the offer or attacking the military to talk.
The ultimatum was delivered by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. He has given Ukraine an ultimatum to comply with Moscow’s proposals, including the surrender of Russian-controlled areas. Lavrov said the Russian military would act if Ukraine did not comply with Russia’s proposal to end the war.
Reported by Reuters on Tuesday (27/12/2022), the ultimatum was delivered by Lavrov a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin declared himself open to talks with Ukraine. However, Kiev and its Western allies have rejected Putin’s offer to speak.
Putin’s own troops are still targeting Ukrainian cities with missiles and rockets. Meanwhile, Moscow continues to ask Kiev to recognize the conquest of a fifth of Ukrainian territory.
“Our proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of regime-controlled areas, the elimination of threats to Russia’s security that originate there, including our new lands, are already known to the enemy,” Lavrov said, citing the agency of printing TASS.
“The bottom line is simple – fulfill them for your own good. Otherwise, the matter will be decided by the Russian military,” he continued.
