Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

The second round of dialogue between Russia and Ukraine related to Moscow’s invasion of the former Soviet Union, it is reported that it will take place today, Wednesday (2/3).

Citing a source from the Russian delegation, the news agency TASS reported that the two sides had agreed on a second round of negotiations to take place on March 2.

Russia’s RIA news agency also reported that dialogue would resume in Belarus, near the border with Poland. The information was obtained from Belarusian politician Yury Voskresensky.

According to Voskresensky, the first members of the Russian delegation will arrive in the capital Minsk on Tuesday (1/3) evening.

However, reported CNNthe Ukrainian delegation has not confirmed this news.

Rumors of a second round of talks emerged after the Ukrainian and Russian delegations failed to agree on a ceasefire in their inaugural dialogue on Monday (28/2).

In fact, one of the goals of Ukraine agreeing to dialogue with Russia is to call for an immediate ceasefire.

“The Ukrainian and Russian delegations are holding the first round of negotiations. The aim is to discuss a ceasefire and fighting on Ukrainian territory. Each party has determined the topic on which decisions have been mapped out. In order for this decision to be implemented, all parties agree to return to consultations with their respective capitals. ,” the representative of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks, Mikhaylo Podolyak, told reporters after the dialogue.

“All relevant parties agreed to hold the next round of dialogue in which this decision can be developed,” said Podolyak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Negotiations between the two sides continued even though Russia continued to bombard a number of major cities in Ukraine such as Kharkiv and the capital Kiev on Tuesday (1/2). At least 15 people died as a result of Russian attacks in the two cities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has also laid out 3 main conditions for the invasion of Ukraine to stop.

First, Ukraine must be neutral and not take sides with the West.

Second, Putin stated that another key solution to resolve the conflict between the two countries is that Ukraine must remove the influence of Nazism or the practice of fascism (denazification) and demilitarization.

Third, Ukraine must recognize Crimea as Russian territory. Crimea is part of the territory of Ukraine which Russia annexed in 2014.
