The Russian and Ukrainian armies exchanged missile and marching attacks on Wednesday morning, and while battles continue on many fronts, Kiev received a new military aid package from Denmark.
The Russian Defense Ministry said via Telegram that Ukraine attacked the Sevastopol Shipyard in Crimea with 10 cruise missiles and 3 high-speed boats.
The ministry explained that Russian air defense systems destroyed 7 cruise missiles, and that a Russian reconnaissance ship destroyed all the boats.
“As a result of being hit by enemy cruise missiles, two ships that were under repair were damaged,” the ministry said.
According to the pro-Russian authorities in Crimea, the Ukrainian bombing led to a fire in the shipyard and at least 24 people were injured.
The Sevastopol Strategic Shipyard builds and repairs ships and submarines for the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which launches drone boat and missile attacks on Ukraine.
163 explosions
On the other hand, Kiev announced that Russian forces bombed the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine 36 times during the past 24 hours.
The military administration in the region stated that 163 explosions were recorded in various parts of the country as a result of the Russian bombing, according to what the Kyiv Independent newspaper reported through its account on the “X” platform on Wednesday morning. There were no reports of human or material losses.
For his part, the governor of the Odessa region said that a Russian attack with drones early on Wednesday caused damage to the infrastructure of Ismail Port, wounding at least 6 people.
“Several groups of drones were launched into the Ismail area,” Governor Oleh Kiper said.
“Unfortunately, there were casualties. Damage was recorded to the port and other civilian infrastructure,” he added.
It is noteworthy that the ports of Izmail and Reni are among the largest river ports in Ukraine, and are used to export grain. They are located on the Danube River on the border with Romania.
Since its withdrawal from the grain export agreement brokered by Turkey and sponsored by the United Nations, Russia has intensified its attacks on the Danube and the Black Sea, the region that includes infrastructure and ports used to store and export grains.

Tanks, missiles and anti-tanks
In a related context, Denmark announced that it would provide Ukraine with additional military assistance worth $833 million, including tanks, missiles, and surface-to-air anti-aircraft weapons.
Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said, “For Ukraine to be able to continue to defend itself against the illegal Russian invasion, it is necessary for countries like Denmark to maintain their military and economic support for Kiev.”
The minister stressed that this is “the largest Danish financial contribution to date.” Denmark will provide this assistance to Ukraine over a period of 3 years.
The new assistance includes tanks, vehicles, tank shells, and surface-to-air anti-aircraft guns.
This is the 12th aid that the Scandinavian country has provided to Kiev since Russia began its war in Ukraine a year and a half ago.
It is noteworthy that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently visited Copenhagen, where he inspected F-16 fighter jets after the United States allowed Denmark and the Netherlands to deliver these American-made aircraft to Kiev.
