Russian TV: Putin will make a major announcement next week

– We are waiting for important announcements, says Pavel Sarubin, who is the presenter of “Moskva. Kremlin. Putin” on the state channel WGTRK.

According to the message, Putin will chair an extended meeting of the ministry, which is held annually. It is not known on what day it will be held.

On Monday, however, Putin is expected to meet Belarusian leader Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk.

New attacks in Kherson

The announcement comes on the same day as new Russian attacks are reported in central Kherson.

The Russians withdrew from the city in November but have now established positions on the other side of the Dnipro River. From there, they often carry out attacks on the city.

Kherson governor Yaroslav Yanushevych said on Sunday that Russia carried out 54 attacks with rockets, grenade launchers and artillery from tanks the day before. Three people were killed and six injured, according to the governor.

The Minister of Defense went to the Ukrainian front

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has visited Russian forces involved in the “special operation” in Ukraine, according to Russian authorities.

– Shoigu has flown to areas where Russian forces are stationed and visited front-line positions in the military special operation area, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The message was posted on Telegram on Sunday along with a photo of Shojgu in a helicopter.

Here Shoigu is also said to have listened to reports from commanders and talked to ordinary soldiers, whom he is said to have thanked for their exemplary efforts.

The statement does not contain precise information about where Shoigu traveled and whether the places are in Ukraine.
