Russian TV attacks Prigozhin..and “the investigation is still ongoing”

Russian state television scathingly attacked the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and the state channel broadcast pictures described as exclusive footage of security raids on Prigozhin’s office in St. Petersburg and one of his properties there.
The Russian government channel also made interventions with officials accusing Wagner’s leader of treason, indicating that Prigozhin’s partners in the rebellion are being sought, in order to prosecute and punish them, stressing that the investigation into the rebellion is still ongoing and has not been closed yet.
Under the agreement that ended the rebellion, Prigozhin was to move to neighboring Belarus, in return for dropping criminal charges against him.
Lukashenko’s mediation
It is noteworthy that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko intervened on the mediation line between the Wagner leader and Moscow in order to stop his rebellion, which surprised the Kremlin last Saturday.
Later, Prigozhin appeared, stressing that the goal of the military coup he launched was not to overthrow the government in Russia, but rather to protect his group from the plans of the Ministry of Defense.
Despite that mediation, and the Russian president’s assertion that Wagner fighters have 3 options, either to travel to Belarus, sign contracts with the army and the Ministry of Defense, or return to their homes, many observers still ask questions about Prigozhin’s fate.

Putin had described, on the same day, that Wagner’s leader launched his march towards the capital, Moscow, the participants in that campaign as traitors, vowing to inflict severe punishment on them.
However, he later presented several options for these fighters, without addressing the fate of Prigozhin, his former ally, who stabbed him in the back, by name.
