Details: The almost 19-minute video to Radio Liberty was provided by fighters from one of the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighting in the Zaporozhye direction. It was filmed from a drone in the vicinity of Rabotino, Zaporozhye region. Journalists verified that the filming location was indeed located in one of the village’s plantings.
The video shows that Russian soldiers periodically fire machine guns towards Ukrainian positions. One of the Russian soldiers is physically hiding behind a Ukrainian one.
According to the Ukrainian defenders who provided this video, this is the so-called reconnaissance in force to identify fire weapons at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Subsequently, a battle ensued – a grenade probably exploded near a group of Russian soldiers and unarmed prisoners.
Then the Russians decided to retreat. The prisoners began to flee in the direction opposite to the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the Russians followed them. Then the occupier shot several times in the direction of one of the unarmed. Subsequently, it is seen that the body of a fighter in the uniform of the Ukrainian Armed Forces lies on the ground.
Now the Ukrainian military has no information about the further fate of these Ukrainian prisoners.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the forces of the 234th Airborne Assault Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces are fighting in this direction.
Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets, in a commentary to Radio Liberty, emphasized that the use of prisoners of war to participate in hostilities is prohibited. Once granted official status, prisoners must be kept in a specially established camp away from the fighting and await exchange.
