Russian Troops Reduce Intensity of Attacks on Kupyan Direction: Latest Updates from Ukrainian Operational Troop Group

Russian troops have reduced the intensity of their attacks on the Kupyan direction, the head of the press service of the Ukrainian operational-strategic troop group “Khortytsa” Ilya Evlash reported, reports UNIAN.

“On the Liman direction, the enemy has reduced the intensity of his attacks in the area of Sinkovka. The enemy is trying to strengthen his positions there, as he understands that his attacks in this area are fruitless, and now he is organizing positions, regrouping and preparing his assault groups” , said Evlash.

He explained that “due to the fact that the Russian troops did not achieve success in the area, they decided to take a defensive position and begin to strengthen their own positions. Instead, part of the troops were transferred to other places in the direction of Liman. From here, Russia is moving troops of the Liman direction to the area of Terni and Yampolivka, where active, fierce fighting is taking place. The enemy continues to try to find a weak spot, a gap in our defense and tries to push through it – so far without success,” noted Evlash .

According to him, Russia has used similar tactics before – in 2023, for a long time, they failed to capture Novokhorovka in the Luhansk region. After realizing that they would not be able to develop the offensive, the Russian troops decided to transfer their forces to another area of hostilities.

Earlier, the spokeswoman for the South Ukrainian Defense Forces, Natalia Khumenyuk, said that Russia continues to try to eliminate the Ukrainian bridgehead on the left bank of the Kherson region. In addition, she noted that Russia has begun to use aviation here much more cautiously.
