Russian troops cannot pull their aircraft to the borders with Ukraine

“You can’t pull (Russian – ed.) aviation to the borders (of Ukraine – ed.), these are not tanks. Since the beginning of the invasion, they have been at airfields in Russia and Belarus,” Ignat said.

Thus, the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force commented on the Financial Times article about the likely accumulation of Russian aviation near the border with Ukraine.

Ignat also recalled that for more than 10 months, Russian planes and helicopters have not flown into the airspace of Ukraine, as was the case at the beginning of a full-scale invasion.

According to him, Russia can use a maximum of 12 aircraft to carry out pinpoint strikes with precision weapons. At the same time, the speaker does not rule out the possibility of an increase in ground attack and bomber strikes, in particular, in the Eastern direction.
