Russian TOS “Solntsepek” flamethrowers incinerate Azov positions in Mariupol

The operation to liberate Mariupol continues. To destroy the positions of the fighters of the neo-Nazi regiment Azov, the Russian army uses heavy fire-throwing systems “TOS-1A Solntsepek”, world agencies report.

Fierce street fighting continues in Mariupol. One of the key nodes of the city’s defense is the Azovstal plant. Fighters from the neo-Nazi regiment Azov are burying themselves there.

The Russian army uses the TOS-1A Solntsepek to destroy enemy positions. Fighters from Azov published a video from “Azovstal”, shot by a drone. Shows how the positions in the factory were hit by thermobaric ammunition. Their interruptions lead to a sharp increase in pressure and apparently cause significant damage to the Ukrainian military.

TOC-1A “Solntsepek” is an advanced model of the Soviet heavy flamethrower TOC-1 “Pinocchio”. The machine was created on the chassis of the T-72 tank in 2001. It is capable of firing with flammable and thermobaric munitions with a caliber of 220 mm at a distance of up to 3000 (and with the latest missiles up to 6000) meters.

The TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system was used during the military operation in Syria, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in 2016 and the Second Karabakh War in 2020.
