Russian tennis player Roman Safiullin got into the main draw of Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the season, after the removal of Spaniard Rafael Nadal. This is reported by Twitter Entry List Updates, which tracks changes in the composition of the participants in tennis tournaments.

Nadal, 36, has not played since January, after being eliminated in the second round of the Australian Open. The Spaniard has a hip injury, he previously said that the recovery did not go according to plan. It was revealed last week that Nadal would miss Roland Garros for the first time since 2005.

Russian tennis player forgot to sign up for Roland Garros qualification

Safiullin is now 98th in the ATP rankings. The 25-year-old Russian will play in the Wimbledon main draw for the first time in his career.

Safiullin will miss Roland Garros this year due to his own mistake – he forgot to enter the qualification.

Wimbledon will be held from 3 to 16 July.

The Roland Garros favorite is the world No. 1 Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. The betting company Fonbet accepts bets on his victory with a coefficient of 2.25. You can bet on Serbian Novak Djokovic for 2.95, on Russian Daniil Medvedev – for 11.00.
