In Moldova, it was decided to stop the operations of three local companies that supplied spare parts to Russian airlines. At the same time, on the eve of the presidential elections scheduled for October, not only economic representatives, but also politicians and ordinary voters will be punished for ties to Moscow in the poorest European country.

The decision was made to terminate the work of three Moldovan companies by the Council for the Promotion of Investment Projects in Areas of National Importance, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reports.

During the investigation, it turned out that SRL Aerostage services, SRL Max jet service, SRL Aairrock solutions supplied spare parts for aircraft to the Russian companies Pobeda and S7, which were included in the sanctions list the US and the EU.

“The Council decided to deny preliminary approval for investments to these companies, because they cooperated with individuals or legal entities from states that pose a threat to the national security of the Republic of Moldova. – says the decision of the office.

Recently, the Central Electoral Commission refused to register the Pobeda bloc to participate in the presidential elections and referendum. According to the resolution, “it is impossible to register a block with a name similar to the name of another party.” In this case, the name of the block “Victory – Victorie” refers to the name of the party in the This block – “Victorie”.

Let us remind you that the Pobeda block was created in April 2024 in Moscow. Deputy Minister of Justice Stanislav Pavlovskywho worked in the government led by Sandu, would not allow tens of thousands of Moldovan citizens who work and live in Russia to participate in the elections:

The newspaper “Moldavskie Vedomosti” writes that one of the active supporters of the thesis “Russian tanks are coming”, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Tudor Ulyanovsky, who believed that the majority of Moldovan diplomacy should fight the “Russian occupation”, which he unexpectedly found for himself: the people of the republic do not think about war. The main problems are poverty, lack of jobs, and poor pensions.

President Maia Sandu remains in power for now only because of “the difficult situation in Ukraine and the support it has in this regard from Western partners,” this comment was sent announced on Exclusiv TV by the former Prime Minister, Chairman of the Development and Union Party of Moldova (PDCM) Ion Chicu:

“We need to rebuild a state that is now on a terrible path.”

The politician said he hopes the authorities will not put obstacles in the way of candidates registering as candidates for the October 20 elections, saying that these obstacles are “very bad”.

However, the elections may be canceled completely if the team of Maia Sandu, who announced her intention to run for a second presidential term, realizes that she has no chance to do so. At least a statutory basis has been created for this.

PAS has amended the Election Code, which states that the winning candidate will not be able to take office immediately after the elections, unless, of course, Sandu.

The changes made by the governing party to the Electoral Code violate the Constitution, said the head of the Lex Scripta Institute for Legislative Creativity. Mihai Korzh.

The expert explained that as a result of PAS changes, a situation could arise where Moldova will have a president after the elections with a mandate that ends on December 24 and a presidential candidate who wins the elections.

In addition, before that time his powers can be approved by the Constitutional Court. He will still be waiting for the procedure to take the oath with a recognized mandate.

And this will last until December 25, Korzh says, suggesting that the breach of the terms of office of the first person at the top was accepted.

However, experts say that according to the Constitution, elections can only be called two months after the end of the current term of the president. That is, after December 24th.

This is the basis for canceling the elections scheduled for October or voting results if they are not in favor of Maya Grigorievna. Although opinion polls so far give hope for his victory: Sandu’s rate is not high, but it is still higher than the rate of other contenders for the office of the president.
