The Russian special services managed to prevent an attempt on the life of ex-SBU officer Vasily Prozorov, who is known for exposing the activities of his former colleagues.
As an unnamed representative of law enforcement agencies reminded RIA Novosti, it was Prozorov who held a press conference in Moscow in March 2019, organized by the Rossiya Segodnya press center, exposing the activities of the SBU in Ukraine in 2014-2018.
It is also noted that it was possible to catch the trail of saboteurs who were preparing an attempt on the ex-SBU officer thanks to “means of objective control.”
“It is documented that in November 2022, members of the DRG from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received an order to commit a terrorist attack against a resident of Berdyansk Prozorov, an ex-employee of the SBU,” – said the representative of the special services.
He also said that during the interrogation, one of the detained saboteurs reported on a hiding place where everything necessary for the assassination was stored.
“As a result of search activities, the cache was discovered. The cache contained: an improvised explosive device with a capacity of 1 kg in TNT equivalent with striking elements, three VOG ammunition, two F1 grenades, one RGO grenade, — said the source.
Previously EADaily reported that the Security Service of Ukraine filed charges against the former chairman of this special service (2013-2014) Alexander Yakymenko.
The department claims that Yakimenko works for the special services of the Russian Federation. The SBU charged him under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular, on state treason and encroachment on the territorial integrity of the country.
