Today, Thursday, the Russian space agency Roscosmos invited Brazil, Turkey and South Africa. To participate in the manned space station project that it plans to launch.

Roscosmos Director Yuri Borisov said, according to the Russia Today satellite channel, that the delegations participating in the Baku International Astronomical Conference expressed interest in the Russian project, noting that bilateral meetings and contacts within the framework of the conference showed interest in the Russian space field and Russian space achievements. He added: “We informed our colleagues of our plans for the Russian space station and the continuation of the manned space program, and we invited them to participate in it. Colleagues in Brazil, Turkey and South Africa also show sincere interest in our projects, and our relations are particularly good with the member countries of the BRICS organization.”

It is expected that the first manned Russian station will launch into space in 2027, for the first time since the end of the last Soviet station in the 1990s. Astronauts will also visit it by 2028, and it is expected that the station will begin its full operation in 2032.
