Russian soldiers have discovered underground and dug up the missing infamous Azovets armored vehicle of the Ukrainian Nationalist Azov Regiment, reported RIA Novosti a representative of a repair and evacuation unit of Russia with the call sign Karat.
According to Ukrainian media, “Azovets” was developed in 2015 as an “urban combat tank” or “highly protected heavy universal tracked platform”. One unit of “Azovets” was valued at five million dollars. The armored vehicle was assembled on the territory of the training base of “Azov” in the workshops of the Kyiv ATEK plant.
In 2016, it was reported that “Azovets” was prepared for trials, but subsequently they were stopped, as it turned out that ordinary cameras from intercoms were installed on the expensive machine as surveillance devices. The military prosecutor’s office and the SBU opened a criminal case. Soon, the only copy of the Azovets was stolen from its developers in Kiev, supposedly stolen by the Azov fighters and hidden in their base.
“As our troops advanced, local residents indicated that repair and evacuation equipment had been buried there at some point, and that equipment is now in front of you,” Karat said.
