Russian singer Philip Kirkorov entered the black list of clients of the luxury fashion brand “Balenciaga”. The reason for this is his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin and for the invasion of his soldiers in Ukraine, reports the “Observer” website.
His ban on shopping at the French brand is understood from Kirkorov’s interview uploaded to YouTube.
“Everyone knows I’m a fashionista. Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Balmain – they’re all always waiting for me with open arms. I’m the type of customer who really cares about what they wear and how come on stage. I’ve already changed three times this morning… At one point my stylist got a call from the Balenciaga boutique in Monaco: “We can no longer sell things to Philip Kirkorov because he supports President Putin’s regime.” says the singer.
Kirkorov decided to test the ban and tried to buy a bag from the brand’s boutique in Dubai. However, the saleswoman showed him that there was a ban, writes “Telegraph”.
“I also called my friend in the USA and asked him to buy clothes in my name, he was refused,” adds Kirkorov. He received a special letter from the French brand stating that his ban from shopping with them was indeed due to his support for Putin. And although the singer emphasizes that this decision does not bother him because there are other fashion brands that are ready to work with him, his lawyers would prepare a case against the fashion brand for insult.
