Russian Ship New Raouf Collides with Vessel in Black Sea and Sustains Damage, Updates on Location and Ownership

It is noted that the Russian ship received side damage after a collision with another ship – New Raouf under the flag of the Republic of Palau. After the accident, the ship continued its journey towards Turkey and is now located near the entrance to the Bosphorus.

According to Bulgarian media, the owner of the vessel is the Liberian New Raouf Shipping Ltd, the operator is the Romanian Daytona Management.

The Russian ship tilted and three ballast tanks were flooded. It returned to the Bulgarian port of Varna for examination.

The ferry “Slavyanin” has been running for about 10 years on the Varna – Caucasus line, transporting railway tanks. It is not clear what the Russian vessel was doing near Chablis/Tulenovo, because the line to the port of Kavkaz runs in a straight line in a more easterly direction, while it was moving somewhat to the north.
