At least five people have been killed and 31 injured in a Russian rocket attack on the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, according to Ukrainian authorities.
According to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, two rockets hit a residential area.
According to Klymenko, a child, 19 police officers and five rescue workers were injured in another attack while they were supposed to help the victims in the first place.
According to the head of Ukraine’s military administration in Donetsk, Pavlo Kyrylenko, apartment blocks, hotels, restaurants and shops in the area were attacked. He has also shared photos of destroyed buildings.
Russian forces also attacked targets in the Kharkiv region of eastern Ukraine on Monday. According to local authorities, two civilians were killed and seven others were wounded in the village of Kruhljakivka.
