“Russian Resettlement and Ukrainian National Identity in Luhansk”

“The most active events are held in the Luhansk region. To this end, the Russian government has initiated a large-scale resettlement of a significant number of people of different nationalities, mainly low-income segments of the population, from remote regions of the Russian Federation,” Malyar writes.

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the occupying administrations help immigrants from Russia, which provide them with accommodation, employment, provision of soft loans for the purchase of housing, and business development.

“At the same time, Russian occupiers continue to deport local residents of the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, especially those who are suspected of holding pro-Ukrainian positions, to Russia under various pretexts,” Malyar adds.

Thus, as Malyar explains, the enemy is trying to destroy Ukrainian statehood and the national self-identity of society in the temporarily occupied territories.
