“Russian Regions report drone attacks by Ukrainian forces”

Ukrainian drones are registered in three regions in Russia – Voronezh, Kursk and Belgorod. There were no reports of damage or casualties, the BBC’s Russian service informed.

The governor of Voronezh region Alexander Gusev reported a drone attack on one of the military sites in the region.

“Early this morning, an attack attempt by two enemy drones against a military facility in Voronezh was foiled. As a result of the impact measures, one of them deviated from the course and fell, the second was destroyed. Interaction with law enforcement agencies and the military command continues . A complex of additional measures aimed at guaranteeing security is being implemented. I keep the situation under personal control,” Gusev wrote on his Telegram channel.

A little earlier than Belgorod region reports came in of a nighttime drone incident. Authorities there say an unmanned aerial vehicle, possibly Ukrainian, exploded on their territory last night.

“At night there was an explosion in the village of Olkhovatka, Novooskolsky district. Apparently, an enemy drone exploded,” wrote Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his VKontakte page.

In his words two residential buildings, a library, a post office, a paramedic station and a car were damaged.

According to the governor, since the beginning of the war, 28 industrial and commercial buildings and 18 individual entrepreneurs have suffered from shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Belgorod Region.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the nighttime drone incident.

A drone fell in the village of Tolmachevo in Kursk regionsaid the governor of the region Roman Starovoit, quoted by Reuters.

He announced this information on his Telegram channel. He claimed that the drone was shot down by “air defense forces” near Kursk, and its debris “fell in the village of Tolmachevo.”

Starovoit writes that there were no casualties, but “there is damage to a local gas pipeline and the facade of a houseHe posted a photo of the damage.

Russia announced on May 7 that it had thwarted a drone attack on an airport in the Ivanovo region. TASS reported.

“The Federal Security Service (FSB), acting together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, foiled a sabotage attempt organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine against Severny Airport in Ivanovo Oblast, in which drones loaded with explosives should have been involved,” the FSB said.

It is said that the perpetrators planned to hit A-50 early warning aircraft.
