Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed to United States (US) President Joe Biden, in an interview in China. He even gave a striking message to Uncle Sam’s leader.
This was in response to comments that Biden had previously made to Putin. On that occasion, Putin said Moscow’s interests could not be suppressed by other countries.
“This is not about me personally. This is about the interests of the country,” Putin was quoted as saying ReutersFriday (20/10/2023).
“And it is impossible to suppress Russian interests. That must be taken into account,” he added.
Putin said that Biden, with whom he has had an antagonistic relationship since the US president took office in 2021 and the broader American political elite, needed to learn to respect Russia.
“This applies not only to President Biden, but also to the US political elite as a whole. You must learn to respect others, and then there is no need to bully anyone anymore,” he stressed.
Putin himself responded to Biden’s comments in an interview with CBS News, this week. Where the US President mentioned Putin’s name.
“Imagine what would happen if we did, in fact, unite all of Europe and Putin was finally crushed because he could no longer cause the kind of problems he has caused,” Biden said at the time.
It should be noted that relations between Russia and the US are tense after Russia’s attack on Ukraine. In the Hamas VS Israel war, Russia defended Palestine while the US supported Israel.
In his latest speech Thursday night while touching on Hamas, Biden also called Putin a threat.
“Hamas and Putin represent different threats,” he was quoted as saying BBC International.
“But they have something in common. They both want to completely destroy democracy in neighboring countries,” he stressed.
