Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to simplify the rules for hiring minors in order to solve the labor shortage in Russia, unian.net reports.
The Kremlin website has published a list of the president’s instructions to the government, which was created after the results of the “Strong Ideas for New Times” forum. Among other things, there is also an instruction on the lifting of certain child labor restrictions.
Putin has instructed the government to “promote employment” and “stimulate employment” for citizens between the ages of 14 and 24 who are in full-time education. For this purpose, in particular, it is proposed to provide support to employers who hire persons under the age of 18.
A separate instruction offers the government to lift existing restrictions on the employment of university and vocational school students if they are hired to produce “high-tech products”.
Russia has the worst labor shortage in recent decades – 35% of Russian companies complain about the lack of employees, which is the highest figure since 1996.
In addition, there is a lack of not only working “hands”, but also working “brains” – companies lack high-level managers. Experts associate this situation with war and mobilization – someone got to the front, someone preferred to simply flee from Russia.
