MOSCOW – There is a foreign visit on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s schedule this fall, according to Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Journalists asked Peskov on Monday (28/8/2023) if Putin plans to travel abroad in the near future, given an arrest warrant issued for him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“Such a visit is planned, yes for the fall,” the spokesperson replied.

However, he declined to name specific goals, saying, “We will tell you about that in time. For obvious reasons, we didn’t want to announce this beforehand.”

Peskov also confirmed a meeting between Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is being planned and will take place “soon”.

“An official announcement regarding the date and place will be expected soon,” he said.

In early August, Erdogan’s office said the Russian leader would arrive in Turkey for talks.

However, Turkish media later reported the meeting would likely take place in Russia.
