(Seoul = Yonhap News) As the war in Ukraine, which began with Russia’s invasion, is prolonged, analysts say that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s position in the international diplomatic arena is getting narrower.

The BRICS summit, which opens in South Africa on the 22nd (local time), is expected to be attended by all heads of state except President Putin.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Dashuva entered the country the day before, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive on the same day.

BRICS is a consultative body of five emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

After an arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), President Putin sent Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to South Africa instead.

President Putin will attend the meeting only via video.

Let’s see it in the video.
