The artist might not have become a famous singer.
It is no coincidence that Sergei Penkin is considered one of the most shocking Russian pop stars. He has a unique voice, he can reach four octaves, for which he was even included in the Guinness Book of Records. However, the artist does not have any state awards in his native country and is far from being as popular as some of his colleagues.
In addition, Penkin’s biography contains many facts that he prefers not to talk about. For example, the singer has an excellent pedigree – his mother came from the noble family of the Dolinins. In the past, the aristocrats were wealthy, but after the revolution they became poor.
Penkin’s mother was a very pious woman who instilled a love of faith and children. That is why the future artist began his first steps in music in church, where he sang in the choir. He even planned to enter a theological seminary to become a clergyman. But in the end he abandoned this idea.
When the persistent Penkin conquered Moscow and the local academy, he had to earn a living by sweeping the streets. Among the fellow janitors there were many musicians, so in the evenings cheerful groups gathered in their closet. Zhanna Aguzarova and Irina Otieva even came there. And despite all the difficulties, Penkin was not ashamed of those years.
