Russian Politicians Announce Revival of SMERSH, Linked to World War II and James Bond Novels: Latest Updates from British Ministry of Defense

At the end of 2023, Russian politicians announced the revival of SMERSH, created by Stalin between 1943 and 1945.

Already at the beginning of 2024, chevrons with the inscription “SMERSH” can be seen on some occupiers, which confirms the words of Russian officials last year.

Today, January 8, at press service The British Ministry of Defense announced the main theses for the revival of SMERSH in the Russian army.

The abbreviation stands for “death to spies.” The organization was first created by Stalin in the USSR in the period from 1943 to 1945 during the Second World War.

In the West, this organization became known thanks to Ian Fleming’s novels about the British special agent James Bond.

At the moment, British intelligence cannot yet give an answer: whether the organization from the times of Stalin has been revived with the same functions or is it a completely new organization from the Russian intelligence services.

However, the story around SMERSH once again proves that the Kremlin is deliberately presenting the Russian-Ukrainian war in the spirit of World War II. At the same time, Moscow is increasingly paying attention to the penetration of threats from outside, from abroad, into Russia.

Earlier we reported that Crimean Dubravsky left the occupation peninsula and said hello to the Russian SMERSH.

Let us remind you that the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured a denazifier, whose body was dotted with tattoos with Nazi symbols and runes.
