Prigozhin added that “the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to completely go and cut the flanks” of the Russian occupiers, who are supposedly not covered.
He also complained that the military of the aggressor country and the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC did not have enough shells. According to Prigozhin, because of this, five times more people die among the invaders than they could. At the same time, shells are “piled up in batches” in warehouses, he said.
“There is a betrayal inside the Russian Federation. We are not allowed to build up defenses and advance further. But we will attack at any cost. Our forces will last another two or three weeks until the last cartridge in the automatic horn remains,” he added.
On the side of Russia in the war against Ukraine, in addition to the regular army, private military companies are fighting. The most famous among them is the Wagner PMC, whose ranks include mercenaries and prisoners recruited in prisons.
Prigozhin had already complained about the Wagner’s lack of shells in February. He accused the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu and the Chief of the Russian General Staff, the commander of the grouping of Russian troops in Ukraine, General Valery Gerasimov, of deliberately destroying the Wagner PMC, equating their actions with “treason.”
In early April, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, where the Wagnerites are fighting, the occupiers’ shell hunger has ended and artillery and air strikes have become twice as strong.
