Moscow: On February 24, one year after the start of the invasion of Ukraine, an extraordinary parliament meeting is going to be held in Russia. Both the Houses of Parliament will hold morning and evening meetings on February 22. The meetings are reportedly to discuss the adoption of laws for the integration of the eastern Ukrainian provinces of Seporsia, Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk into the Russian Federation. President Vladimir Putin last year declared the four provinces part of Russia, but Western countries and the United Nations have not recognized this. At the same time, Putin will deliver his annual address to a joint session of both houses of parliament on February 21.
