About this afternoon 9 July informed in Telegram, the famous Russian opposition leader Dmitry Gudkov.
Gudkov himself received a warning right at the airport of one of the European countries. Local law enforcement officers called him for a conversation, in which they called for increased security measures.
“According to them, a wide range of opposition figures and public figures living abroad, whom the Putin regime considers its enemies, are now at increased risk. The list included all the names that I immediately remembered“, – said Gudkov.
He clarified that the Russian oppositionist received an almost similar warning from the Turkish security forces. He was recommended to urgently leave the country, as well as to strengthen his own security measures.
“The information about the threat is fresh: 10 days ago, at the same airport in a European country, no one took me aside and warned me of nothing … So if you are an oppositionist or a public figure (public person – ed.), then be careful. There are now enough people who want to curry favor with Putin“, – said Gudkov.
He said that European law enforcement officers, sharing information, asked him to keep certain details secret. The oppositionist also added that at risk, including not the most popular figures who opposed the war.
It is worth clarifying that many experts have recently been talking about the inevitability of increased repression by the Kremlin. This is a standard reaction of such regimes to failures (military and political). By eliminating the opposition, the Kremlin may try to revive the image of power and divert the attention of the population from problems.
