Russian oligarchs among Elon Musk’s investors? X shareholders were made public

So is 8VC, the venture capital firm co-founded by Palantir’s Joe Lonsdale, which is reportedly linked to Russian oligarchs.

The sons of two famous Russian businessmen, Vadim Moshkovich and Petar Aven, work there. American venture capital fund 8VC invests in companies performing contracts for the US Department of Defense and NATO, Forbes writes.

Some of the registered shareholders were investors in Twitter before Musk took over. For example, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al Saud reportedly exchanged their Twitter stock for stakes in what is now X.

The lawsuit involving the shareholder list is dated June 9, 2023, but was postponed this week in response to a request by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press on behalf of the independent news Jacob Silverman.

In a blog post releasing the full list of investors, Silverman admitted that many of Musk’s supporters are already known and that the list does not include the amount of property. However, he said it is “a good starting point for journalists, researchers, regulators, activists and anyone else who wants to know what goes on behind the scenes at this important company. ”
