MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – An officer Russia admits that the Russian troops were exhausted in the war in Ukraine.
The official is Andrei Gurulyov, a member of the lower house of the Russian parliament, aka the Duma. He is also a former Russian military general.
Gurulyov admits difficulties Russian Army in the war in Ukraine while talking to the Russian government TV channel.

The recorded video of the interview was translated and uploaded to Twitter by the reporter BBC Francesco Scarr on Sunday (12/18/2022).
“There are things that cannot be denied. We are well aware that they have supplied Ukraine with goods,” Gurulyov said, referring to Ukraine’s Western allies.
“It starts with helmets and bulletproof vests. Then firearms, ammunition and then howitzers,” Gurulyov continued, as reported Newsweek.
He complained that Ukraine was receiving military aid from the West, which he attributed to changing the course of the war.

“Next, HIMARS, and now the Patriot system. Next is the Abrams or Leopard tank. It does not matter. Everything will come at some point. All of this will come,” Gurulyov said.
Gurulyov complained that Russia’s current military strategy can only be wary of every weapon supplied by the West to Ukraine, instead of devising a strategy to counter the future.
“Unfortunately, in this sense, we are catching up. We survive. We are waiting for them to bring something and then find a way to fight them,” Gurulyov said.
Newsweek reportedly, Gurulyov’s remarks were the latest indication that the Russian invasion had faltered.

Throughout the conflict, there have been reports of Russia struggling to maintain a well-motivated and trained force.
This week, Ukraine said it had contacted more than 1 million Russian troops hotline surrender.
International relations professor at the University of Southern California Robert English said Newsweek that there are many people in Russia who are aware of Moscow’s military mistakes.
Thus, says English, Russian officials “continue to lie” about the reality of the conflict.

“So admitting that the Russian army is stalled and has suffered heavy losses is inevitable,” said English.
He concluded that recognition was inevitable especially if the Kremlin was to prepare its people for months of war.
“Paradoxically, to maintain the support of even more selfless audiences, they must recognize the enormous sacrifices that have been made. It might not work, but they have to try,” said the Englishman.
