The ship is being repaired at the 13th shipyard in Kilen Bay of Sevastopol.
It is noted that large dents are visible on the port side of the ship, there is no paint, and in its place there are red spots – this is the color of the primer that is applied before painting.
The ship was moored on the south side of the bay, where the large landing ship Yamal used to be. The latter was already out of repair in early May.
As early as May 8, the same damaged ship was lying next to the pier in Sukharnaya Bay. Through the paint could be seen tail number-158, corresponding to the landing craft “Caesar Kunikov”.
Russia, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, has painted over all the numbers to make it difficult to identify.
Today, the Black Sea Fleet has four large landing ships of project 775:
- “Caesar Kunikov” – tail number 158;
- “Novocherkassk” – tail number 142;
- “Yamal” – tail number 48;
- “Azov” – tail number 51.
The Russian media also did not provide official reports on the repair of the Azov, which is moored at a berth at a factory near Kilen Bay.
