Russian Missile Strike Defeats Ukrainian Tycoon

Russian forces continued to attack Ukraine including in the southern city of Mykolaiv. Ukraine’s richest businessman reportedly died with his wife after a missile hit their home.

A Ukrainian businessman or grain tycoon who died with his wife, Oleksiy Vadatursky (74). He owns Nibulon or a company that exports wheat, corn and other foodstuffs which has its own ships to send exports. While his wife’s name is Raisa.

Vadatursky’s death was considered a great loss. His contribution to the development of the agricultural industry is invaluable, as evidenced by the award he once received as ‘Hero of Ukraine’.

“Vadatursky’s contribution to the development of the agricultural and shipping industries, the development of the region is invaluable,” said Mykolaiv Governor Vitaliy Kim, quoted by the BBC on Monday (1/8/2022).

An adviser to the President’s office Ukraine suspect the Russians were deliberately aiming at Vadatursky because one of the missiles hit his chambers. “It’s undoubtedly being directed,” said Mykhailo Podolyak.

Zelensky Calls Ukraine Huge Loss

Vadatursky and his wife Raisa were confirmed dead in a Russian missile attack on the city of Mykolaiv. The confirmation was delivered by Mykolaiv Governor Vitaliy Kim and the Ukrainian presidential office.

Both died in their home in Mykolaiv. Vadatursky is the leader and founder of the agricultural company Nibulon. Nibulon is one of the largest wheat grain producers and exporters in Ukraine.

“This is a great loss for the Mykolaiv region and the whole Ukraine,” Zelensky said in a statement responding to the deaths of Vadatursky and his wife.

“Over the more than 50 years of his career, Oleksiy Vadatursky has made an invaluable contribution to the development of the region and the development of the agricultural and shipbuilding industries of our country,” Zelensky said.
