A Russian missile has probably entered Poland’s airspace, world media reported, citing Polish General Maciej Klish.
Early on the morning of December 29, an unidentified flying object was spotted in the sky over Poland. This is happening against the background of a massive Russian attack on Ukraine.
“The entire trajectory of the flight over the territory of Poland was tracked,” the senior military official told reporters. “At the moment, the scenario I’m recommending is that the missile has left Polish airspace,” added Klish.
The missile penetrated 40 km into Poland and no action was taken against it.
Local television stations report that search groups have been organized to look for the object in the area of the city of Hrubeszów in southern Poland, writes BTA.
A comment from NATO followed on the occasion. In a post on X (Twitter), Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance is closely monitoring the situation in Poland.
Spoke with President @AndrzejDuda about the missile incident in #Poland. #NATO stands in solidarity with our valued Ally, is monitoring the situation & we will remain in contact as the facts are established. NATO remains vigilant.
