Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a Russian missile attack on the city of Dnipro resulted in deaths and injuries.
The governor of Ukraine’s Dnipro region, Serhiy Lysak, confirmed that an explosion occurred near the central city on Saturday, damaging a two-storey house and injuring at least 13 people, and there may be others under the rubble.
Lessac wrote on Telegram that three children were among the wounded.
And the emergency services moved to the scene of the accident in one of the cities north of Dnipro and pulled a man from under the rubble.
On Saturday, Zelensky said that his country was ready to launch the long-awaited counterattack to regain the territories occupied by Russia.
“We believe very strongly that we will succeed,” Zelensky told the Wall Street Journal.
He added, “I don’t know how long it will take. To be honest, it could go in many completely different ways. But we will do it, and we are ready.”
Kiev hopes that the counterattack will change the course of the war, which broke out with the Russian invasion of its lands 15 months ago.
