Owned missiles Russia reportedly heading towards the capital Kyiv region, Ukraine. However, Ukraine said it shot down the missiles.
As reported by AFP, Monday (11/12/2023), the Russian missile attack was launched on the Ukrainian capital on Monday (11/12) morning at around 04.00 local time. A number of people were reported to have suffered injuries as a result of being hit by fragments of the missile.
“The Russian invaders launched a missile strike against the Kyiv region,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.
“Air defenses destroyed eight air targets flying towards the capital,” added the statement.
Fragments of the missile destroyed in the air fell into the area of Darnytskyi district, east of Kyiv. Kyiv’s military administration authorities said at least four people were injured.
“Medical personnel provided assistance to them at the location,” said the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, in a Telegram post.
“Also, missile fragments were found in the yard of a warehouse in Darnytskyi district. There was no fire or damage to the building,” he added.
Ukrainian authorities accuse Russia of preparing attacks on energy infrastructure on its territory when winter hits, as happened last year.
