The Russian Ministry of Defense said that its forces shot down a Ukrainian missile off the coast of Crimea this evening, Reuters reported, citing BTA.
According to a statement from the department, Russian air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian Neptune missile over the northwestern part of the Black Sea near the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia.
The Moscow-appointed governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said debris from a downed drone fell on the roof of a residential building. No people were injured.
Russian air defense forces also destroyed two rocket launchers and one drone over the Belgorod region, according to the Russian ministry.
Meanwhile, one of Ukraine’s most senior generals said his forces were advancing in the south of the country, one of the two fronts of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
“There is an advance of defense forces in the Tavria sector,” the head of the Southern Command of the Ukrainian army, General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said in a Telegram message, without giving further details.
