Russian Ministry of Defense Destroys 86 Ukrainian Drones and 12 Missiles in One Day

The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that its forces were able to shoot down up to 86 Ukrainian drones, in addition to 12 missiles, within one day.

Russian news agencies reported earlier on Tuesday that Russian air defense forces were able to intercept and destroy 21 Ukrainian drones launched over a number of Russian regions.

A statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian army’s air defense systems destroyed or intercepted a total of 21 drones launched by Ukraine over the Crimean Peninsula and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga and Tula provinces.

The statement read: “Last night, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using drones against targets on the territory of Russia was thwarted.”

The ministry added that operational air defense systems destroyed and intercepted 21 Ukrainian drones, including 11 drones over the territory of the Republic of Crimea, 5 others over the Belgorod province, 3 drones over the Bryansk province, and one drone each in the Kaluga and Tula provinces.
