A test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile was carried out in the Astrakhan region from the Kapustin Yar test site, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
The department clarified that the launch was carried out as part of “state testing of promising missile systems, as well as confirmation of the stability of missiles in service.”
“The results obtained confirm the high reliability of Russian missiles to ensure the strategic security of the Russian Federation. The launch objectives were completed in full,” the Ministry of Defense said.
Previously, Russian telegram channels, including The base and Mash, noticed that residents of Russian regions began to publish photographs and videos of an “unidentified object” in the sky. Channel “Caution, news” wrotethat the rocket or its trace was seen by residents of the Volgograd, Astrakhan and Orenburg regions, as well as Dagestan.
