Testing of the new artillery system has been completed and mass production is now underway, Sergej Chemesov told the state news agency RIA.
– I think they will soon be in place in the northern military district, as howitzers of this type are needed to be able to gain advantages over western artillery systems in terms of range, Chemezov says.
The Coalition-SV has a range of up to 70 kilometers, is equipped with a 2A88 cannon of 152 mm caliber and has a rate of fire of over ten rounds per minute. They have automated systems for target selection and navigation, according to the state news agency Tass. The same type of howitzers are deployed on the front line in Ukraine.
