Russia’s massive attack on Ukrainian military and infrastructure facilities was a response to mobile air defense tactics. This was reported by the popular Ukrainian telegram channel “Resident”.
“Our source in the General Staff said that the enemy’s massive missile strike is a response to tactics with mobile air defense, which is actively used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the telegram channel writes.
The Resident noted that after the downed fighters near Bryansk, Russian troops destroyed several Patriot launchers and the Americans demanded that such operations be stopped.
“But now we have resumed them on our own, which is why the enemy is firing ‘Daggers’ after opening our air defenses,” writes Resident.
As reported EADaily today, January 2, the Russian army launched a missile attack on military and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
“Critical infrastructure, industrial, civilian and military facilities were attacked. The main direction of attack is the capital of Ukraine!” – the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement. They believe that the first wave was attacked by kamikaze drones from the south-eastern direction, followed by movement through different regions of Ukraine.
Next, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, they used strategic aviation – Tu-95MS bombers: “16 aircraft reached the launch line at about 6.00 and launched at least 70 air-launched cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55. From 07.30, launches of ten Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K fighters were recorded. The enemy also attacked from the sea with three Caliber cruise missiles, and from the north with 12 missiles flying along a ballistic trajectory of the Iskander-M/S-300/S-400 type. Four Kh-31P anti-radar missiles were used from Su-35 tactical aircraft.”
The Ukrainian Air Force estimated that Russia used 99 missiles of various types. And they claim to have shot down 72 targets. Numerous videos on the Internet tell a different story.
The operator of the Ukrainian energy system reported that a quarter of a million consumers were without power in Kyiv and the region alone.
