After night explosions in Lviv, a fire occurred in an industrial warehouse, two people were trapped under the rubble – a man and a woman, reported head of the Lviv regional military administration Maxim Kozitsky.
“The woman is initially without injuries. The man is in serious condition. More information later,” Kozitsky wrote in his telegram.
According to the mayor of Lvov Andrey Sadovoythe victim is a 26-year-old young man, he was hospitalized with an open fracture of a limb.
At night in the Lviv region, air raid sirens sounded and the air defense system was working, local authorities reported. The head of the Lviv regional military administration wrote that the threat of strikes had passed. “We thank our air defense. They took on a very difficult challenge with dignity today,” writes Kozitsky.
Correspondents of the BBC Ukrainian Service transmitthat during the attack on Lviv, Russian kamikaze drones flew over the historical center of the city, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. “Shaheds” attacked Lviv after four o’clock in the morning, drones flew towards the city from different directions, journalists report. The attack on Lviv ended around 06:00 and was the longest of the entire full-scale Russian invasion.
According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia launched kamikaze drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk (a city in the Krasnodar region on the coast of the Azov Sea) at about 23:00 on September 18. Five hours later they flew to Lvov.
An air raid alert was announced on the night of September 19 in several central and western regions of Ukraine. Explosions also occurred in Krivoy Rog, Dnepropetrovsk region, Khmelnitsky region, and Odessa.
Head of the Dnepropetrovsk regional administration Sergei Lysak reportedthat as a result of a night attack on Krivoy Rog, a multi-storey building caught fire, but the fire was extinguished. He did not specify which building he was talking about.
“The blast wave damaged the facades of three multi-storey buildings,” writes Lysak. In the morning, he said, a Russian drone was also shot down over Krivoy Rog.
Previously, the head of the Kharkov regional administration Oleg Sinegubov wrotethat Russia launched strikes on the Kholodnogorsky district of Kharkov. There is no information about casualties yet. Mayor of Kharkov Igor Terekhov wrotethat “there is information about hits in the industrial zone” of the Kholodnogorsk region.
At about 03:50, approximately half of the territory of Ukraine was in the air raid zone – almost all of the western and southern regions. A missile threat was also declared in the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions, but it was later canceled.
