“They have an infinite number of soldiers and ammunition,” Prigozhin announced in the “Telegram” app https://www.delfi.lv/news/arzemes/. “I assume that [Ukrainas] the offensive has begun.”
Prigozhin’s claim has not been confirmed, and the Russian military has not commented on it.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke on Wednesday evening only about fierce battles in the city of Bakhmut, where “Wagner” mercenaries are also located.
Prigozhin reported heavy casualties among his soldiers and accused the leadership in Moscow of allowing them to “starve without ammunition”.
Prigozhin’s remarks came as Ukraine prepares for a pre-offensive to recapture territories seized by Russia in its invasion 14 months ago.
The leadership of the Ukrainian army, however, has not provided any details about this counterattack, and there are no indications that it will begin in the near future.
