Russian Medicines Aid in Ho Chi Minh City for COVID-19 Treatment | Health

Ho Chi Minh City, November 26 (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front (FPV) committee in Ho Chi Minh City received 10,000 ampoules of cytoflavin on November 25 from the Pharmaceuticals Science and Technology Company Polysan in St. Petersburg, Russia to help treat the city’s COVID -19 patients.

The ampoules, worth more than 1.2 billion dong (over $ 88,000) will be distributed to eight medical institutions and municipal hospitals.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Timur S. Sadykov, Russian Consul General in the Southern Economic Megacity, stressed that the joint activities against the pandemic between Vietnam and Russia, including the exchange of experiences and donations of medical supplies and vaccines, reflected the integral strategic partnership of the two countries and the friendship and solidarity of their peoples.

The diplomat took the opportunity to thank the city authorities for supporting Russian citizens staying in the city during the 4th wave of the pandemic. He hopes that the medication will help the municipal medical sector to treat patients.

Expressing her gratitude for the valuable and timely support, the president of the FPV municipal committee in Tô Thi Bich Châu said that the aid is proof of the comprehensive Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership as well as the good cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh -City and St. Petersburg.

The cytoflavine is used as part of Russia’s treatment regimen for cardiovascular and brain complications in COVID-19 patients, showing positive results so far. – VNA
